2007 Golden Globe Nominations
The nominations for the Golden Globes were announced this morning. I haven't seen some of the movies yet, but the nominee in bold is my choice at this point in time.

I am glad to see that "Little Miss Sunshine" got a couple of nominations. Usually when a movie is released before October, the voters for these things seem to forget about them. I was very surprised to see that DiCaprio was nominated for lead actor for "The Departed." I figured that any nomination he would get for that would be in the supporting category. The fact that he is nominated against himself might hurt his chances for winning, as voters will most likely be split between his two outstanding performances this year. Scorsese's nomination for directing "The Departed" pretty much ensures an Oscar nomination come January 23, but Scorsese could wind up losing once more against Eastwood. However, the same issue that may arise for DiCaprio may arise for Eastwood, as he's nominated against himself in the directing category. While "The Departed," which is one of my personal favorites of 2006 thus far, is dominating the Drama categories alongside "Babel" (another very well done film), "Dreamgirls" looks to be the front-runner in the Musical/Comedy categories.
